BeeLine GPS with integrated USB interface

The current version of the low power (16mw)  BeeLine GPS integrates the USB Interface and battery charger onto a single board.  This addendum describes that various operating modes of this board.

 

Normal Operating Mode:  Use this mode for tracking.  The unit will transmit the GPS position after it obtains a lock from the GPS satellite constellation. 

1)      Plug the battery into the 3-pin connector.  The LED will blink three times.

2)      Once a lock is obtained, the LED will blink at 1 hz, and a position report will be sent at the user defined rate.

 

Battery Charge Mode:  use this mode to charge the battery.

1)      Plug the battery into the 3-pin connector.  The LED will blink three times.

2)      Quickly plug the USB cable into both the PC and the BeeLine GPS.  The LED will blink once.  The charge indicator LED will remain illuminated until the battery is fully charged.

Programming Mode:  Use this mode when you want to modify the parameters of the device using beeliengps.exe

1)      Start beelinegps.exe

2)      Plug the battery into the 3-pin connector.  The LED will blink three times

3)      Quickly plug the USB cable into both the PC and the BeeLine GPS

4)      Select the proper com-port.

5)      Click “read”.  If you do not complete this step fast enough, you will enter Battery Charge Mode
